Interview with Vtrix

Sebko: Congratulations to your win welcome to the final! What was the difference today you think?

Vtrix: Thank you. Well, having the previous wins under my belt really gave me confidence going into the semis. I think at the beginning of the tournament I started of a bit slow but with those wins I felt that I played much more freely in the semis against Hakisko.

Sebko: Good for you! In your last 2 matches your 1st serve percentage was always over 80 which is a big number, would you consider serve your weapon?

Vtrix: Yes a bit. It does play a factor within my game. I usually going for more placement rather than power. That's why the percentage is so high. It’s really beneficial for me to play much more aggressive when in the rally because I tend to mix my serves and just trying to make opponent keep guessing. There is still need to be work down on my serve if I want to go one step further and making it more of a weapon but for now its working quite well which is good.

Sebko: That certainly works for you! We also saw that your break point conversion was pretty good, do you find yourself relaxed in the tough moments?

Vtrix: Well in a way you have to stay relaxed during those moments because I know if I rush then I'm going to lose them, especially B.P. down and with a second serve. At that point the pressure slowly builds up which I tend to have sometimes but that's mostly with everyone on tour I guess. I know with Hakisko's match he had a lot of B.P. chances and i think it was like 0/6 B.P. conversion rate so that kind of explains that I tend to be more relaxed or a least try to especially in those big moments because that's when it matters.

Sebko: That is great aspect to have for sure, you are showing very good results now and because of that you will be seeded at Australian Open, do you find that important?

Vtrix: I'm really happy that I am seeded for the Australian Open. This is the first time being seeded but I'm new to the tour of course. Being seeded doesn't take away the fact that there is a lot of good players that are not seeded. Those earlier rounds of the tournament is where it really matters because you're not sure who you are going to verse and plus most of the time you haven't versed them before which makes you think how good they really are.

Sebko: You are the first finalist of Auckland, on the other side of the draw they are still unfinished matches, do you have any information about your potential final opponents?

Vtrix: Not really, I don't have information about them at all. That was the whole tournament anyway. In a way its kind of exciting not really knowing the opponents it makes the matches much more interesting but scary at the same time.

Sebko: Good luck in The final!

Vtrix: Thank you!
